The very first thing to evaluate a website is to collect the list of its pages with related meta data. There are a number of online tools allowing to do it and the software called Xenu Linksleuth. I use Megaindex Audit – a Russian tool with a free tariff allowing to scan 500 pages. Yes, it’s available in Russian only.
Except the list of website pages Megaindex Audit provide the following exceptionally useful data:
- 404 errors (broken links – one of major faults that really matters for Google ranking, they also are reflected in GSC),
- internal links with anchor text,
- H1 tags,
- relevancy of page to a keyword etc.
By default Megaindex Audit scans using 5 threads and as deep as 3 levels. It not always retrieve correct meta data for German or French sites. The paid tariff is called Professional, it includes 5k pages from a single website and 50k per month and costs around $12 per month. And yes it does not work with platforms like Shopify, Wix or Weebly which websites pages are actually external ones.
